Bicycle rental terms

 

  1. The driver of a bicycle must strictly adhere to the Road Traffic Code and other Laws of the State, the provisions of which he/she hereby declares to be aware of and accept.
  2. The lessee / driver of the bicycle shall declare responsibly that:

▪ Will not use the bicycle without wearing a suitable safety helmet.

▪ Will not use it on unsafe driving or dirt roads and shall not endanger pedestrians or other vehicles when driving.

▪ Will not drive under the influence of alcohol and other substances or at a state of fatigue or drowsiness and will not perform dangerous maneuvers.

▪ Will not carry heavy objects or other items which are prohibited by applicable law (weapons, drugs, flammable materials, etc.)

▪ No more than one person will ride the bike, nor shall it be allowed to concede the use to another driver after the lease.

▪ Will not sublease or transfer persons or objects for a consideration.

 ▪ Will not undertake any material repair or rebuilding of the bicycle or its mechanism. Will not remove or add accessories.

  1. It is expressly prohibited to drive for persons under the age of 18 who are not accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  2. Parents or guardians of minor drivers shall have full responsibility for the safety of minors and the renting by a person under 18 years shall be deemed to be with the consent and knowledge of the supervising parent.
  3. The lessee understands and accepts that cycling as well as the use of equipment may present a risk of injury to any part of his/her body.
  4. The lessee understands all risks and accepts the sole and full liability for any injury to him/her while using the equipment and has no claim against the company.
  5. The lessee understands that protective equipment such as a helmet is available, but the risk is not eliminated and an injury may occur in the event of an accident and no claim can be raised against the company.
  6. The lessee agrees to release Simple-bike from any liability and fault for injuries or damage to users of the equipment or to third parties for which he/she is solely responsible.
  7. The lessee agrees to have no claim on Simple-bike for injury or damage in respect of cycling and using equipment.
  8. The lessee must make good use of the rented bicycle and equipment.
  9. Prior to receiving the bicycle and equipment, the lessee has checked its overall condition as well as safety related items such as brakes, lights, horn. The lessee must report to the lessor any malfunction that he/she has identified prior to signing the lease and receipt and request that these observations be recorded in the contract prior to signing. In the absence of any observations, the bicycle and equipment shall be deemed to have been leased in good condition and any damage or defect in the return of the bicycle shall be deemed to have been caused by him/her and shall be payable to the company as set forth below.
  10. The minimum rental period is two (2) hours. Returning the bike in less than two hours does not oblige the lessor to refund.
  11. The rental covers the entire cycling network of Athens. It is forbidden to transport the bicycle outside the boundaries of the urban area of Athens.
  12. The bicycle is delivered by the company headquarters at 13 Georgiou Karaiskaki Street, Athens, and the lessee is obliged to return the bicycle to the same place.
  13. The lessee is obliged to return the bicycle to the condition that it was received.
  14. The lessee is liable for any damage or theft (partial or total) caused to the bicycle and equipment during the lease whether caused by him/her or not, according to the applicable price list.
  15. The lease is not covered by any insurance. The lessee is responsible for any material and physical damage suffered or caused to a third party, whether he/she is directly involved or not.
  16. The Company shall not be liable for any accidents or damages to passengers and third parties arising from the improper conduct or driving of the lessee and passengers, as well as for any detriment or damage to foreign property that may occur during the lease, which results clearly from the records held by the company. Solely responsible is the user / driver / lessee or the supervising parent in case of driving by a minor.
  17. It is not permitted to rent without presenting a police ID or passport.
  18. Bicycle rental is paid in cash or by credit card. The use of credit is mandatory even if the payment is made in cash to guarantee the proper use of the bicycle.

  20. Greek law is applicable to any dispute that arises, and the courts of Athens are competent.
